Located on the outskirts of Sleights, MHF Cottages is just a short drive away from Grosmont, the home of the North York Moors Steam Railway. And, being stituated in the Esk Valley, there are plenty of options when it comes to walking. Why not undertake part of the Esk Valley Walk? Or, head to the coast and enjoy a section of the dramatic Cleveland Way.

If golf's your thing, then Whitby Golf Course is nearby. And of course, being located near the coast means there are lots of options for fishing trips if that takes your fancy!

The Esk Valley

The Esk Valley winds its way from the source of the River Esk, nearly 30 miles to the coast at Whitby. Dotted along its route are a selection of some of the most picturesque villages in Yorkshire.

At the mouth of the Esk, where the river meets the North Sea lies Whitby. Home to some wonderful attractions, restaurants, cafes, bars and indepedent shops as well as magnificent sandy beach.

Head north or south from Whitby and you'll find the beautiful fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay respectively. Both make a great location for a day out with excellent pubs, shops and galleries.
